This delightful stand of trees
on the east bank of Lake Coniston was photographed in the late afternoon
sun after a glorious autumn day in early November 2007. What caught
my eye with this particular scene was the way that the low angle lighting
made the trees stand out so well against the dark hillside beyond and
how it brought out the best in the colour in the water & the autumn grasses
in the foreground - the highlights on the trunks of the trees gives the image
some sparkle and depth. I have used the square format emphasises the
peace & tranquility of the scene; a feeling that it would impart into
any room in which it was hung. For the technically minded it was photographed
with a Canon 5D (12.6 megapixel) and a USM IS (ultra sonic image stabilized)
28mm - 135mm lens.
