Batsford arboretum near Morton-in-the-Marsh
on a sunny afternoon in late October. Rather more leaves on the maples
than I was hoping for but the leaves were in excellent colour. It took
quite a while searching around the trees to find this group of leaves within
range of my lens & with a dark background & also being caught by
the sun. It wasn't the first group I'd tried to photograph but the
sun moves very quickly & frequently had moved away by the time I was
ready to press the shutter. A hint of petroleum jelly on an old
skylight filter to add that final flare. Photographed pre digitally on the classic Fujichrome Velvia 50ASA slide film with a Canon EOS 500N in combination with a 70mm - 300mm lens. Stuart Hewins DPAGB |
