The image that
won for me a National Silver Medal for Best Creative Image in the Midland
Counties Photographic Federation Photofolia exhibition in 1992. The
technique that was used was to prepare a contact printed black & white
lith negative from the original colour slide and then to sandwich it with
the original colour slide. The spotted impressionistic effect was produced
by making the contact exposure through etched glass but the difficult bit
was to reserve the green areas from going black - this involved some
painstaking work with photo-opaque and a very fine brush under a powerful
magnifying glass. Stuart Hewins DPAGB |
